Please check our FAQ section for understanding the terms “Sirdar” and “sherpa”.

Nima Tamang – Sirdar

Nima is our senior “Sirdar”, and he is in charge of all practical logistics in our expeditions and treks that he is assigned to. Nima was born and raised in the Solo Khumbu region of Mount Everest, but now lives with his wife and their two adorable daughters in Kathmandu. Nima is an extremely organized and positive person, who can make all work seem like fun. In his proximity, laughter is nonstop which often gives an extra work for the leader/ guide to translate what is happening, as the clients do not want to miss his clever jokes. Nepali or not – laughter is guaranteed in the vicinity of this one. Also – Watch out for all the practical jokes he exposes you to!

Hari Magar – Sirdar

Hari comes from a village called Thade which is a few days walk south of Lukla in the Everest region. He has worked as a sherpa for many years and know every little path and every lodge owner on the trek. Hari is married and has a son and a daughter. He is a very punctual and hard working person and has a great passion for his job. He has a contagious smile that passes on within the staff and clients alike.

Dorje Tamang- Cook

Dorje is our trekking and expedition cook. He comes from a village called Tapting, south of Lukla in the Everest region. He has a great passion for cooking and is always learning new dishes. His cuisines are appreciated tremendously and in our evaluations we can read:
“The food was amazing! Dorje made enormous efforts to provide us with good, tasty food and always nicely presented in hot vessels! The food cools otherwise very fast at 5100 meters above sea level, where we had our base camp 🙂 ”
“5 stars to Dorje! Could not be better! ”
“Impressive variation, delicious and beautiful!”
Dorje wishes to give good education to his daughter, so now he lives with his wife and daughter in Kathmandu, where his daughter goes to school.
