Ama Dablam Base Camp – Glamping

13 Days

Glamping trek in the Himalaya

We prepared this unique trip to break the stereotype that a trek in the Himalaya has to be all about endurance and roughening out in harsh conditions with basic facilities. Of course there are physical challenges but why not include some luxury to make a journey in the majestic Himalaya both fascinating and comfortable. It is indeed a trip of a lifetime!

Ama Dablam is one of the most stunningly beautiful mountains in the world and every climbers dream. It is the most impressive peak along the Everest trail. Every person who has trekked in the Everest region has without a doubt taken numerous pictures of this impressive mountain which is the heart of this region. The Base Camp of this mountain is surreal. A well sheltered flat meadow on the lap of this majestic mountain with a glacial stream meandering  through, makes it an ideal spot to establish a Base Camp for climbing this mountain. A trek to this Base Camp offers fantastic views of Ama Dablam and the surrounding mountains.

Overview

We begin with an incredible mountain flight to Lukla, flying parallel to the Himalayas. For a couple of days we walk through alpine forest following the Dudh Kosi (Milk river) upstream. Dudh Kosi is fed by several rivulets that originates from the base of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Gokyo and Dzasampa in Tibet border. Soon we are at the Sherpa capital of the Khumbu- Namche Bazaar. From here the valley opens up a bit exposing its great depths as we ascend in altitude. We trek through picturesque villages of Phortse and Pangboche, while visiting fairy tale like monasteries perched at hilltops with magnificent backdrops of the majestic mountains. Our final desitination is Ama Dablam Base camp, which is considered as the most beautiful mountain in the Himalaya and the most picturesque Base Camp of a mountain. We camp here for a couple of days exploring the area which offers some of the most beautiful vistas in the Himalaya. On our return journey we visit Tyangboche which is regarded as the holiest place of the Khumabu and famous for its monastery.

We end this fantastic adventure with an extremely scenic helicopter ride from the Base Camp of Ama Dablam to Lukla and connect to scheduled flight to Kathmandu.
